Statement of Faith

All employees and families of Liberty Christian School affirm their commitment and agreement with the Statement of Faith on an annual basis.

  1. We believe the Bible is the Inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16) That it is inerrant, and authoritative in all matters.

  2. We believe in the trinity as being one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19,1 Corinthians 8:6).

  3. We believe Jesus is the son of God. We believe in the virgin birth, that Jesus was sinless, that He died, rose again, performed miracles and will return again one day.(John 10:30; 2 Corinthians 5:21; John 21:24-25; Acts 1:9; Mark 16:19; Luke 24:6-7; Revelation 19:11-16; Hebrews 9:26-28; Romans 5:9; 1 Corinthians 15:2-4; John 1:1-3; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Matthew 1:22-23)

  4. We believe in the fall of man, that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.  (Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:23; Romans 3:9-20; Psalm 51:5)

  5. We believe the Holy Spirit enables the believer to be born again and empowers the believer to live the Christian life. (2 Thessalonians 3:13, 1 Peter 1:2, Ephesians 3:14-20, Galatians 5:16; Romans 12:1-2; Titus 2:11-14)

  6. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

  7. We believe in the imminent return of Jesus and that those who have believed in Him will be resurrected to a heavenly dwelling in an incorruptible body, and those who do not believe will join Satan and his host in eternal punishment.

  8. We believe the true Church is composed of all born-again believers in Christ, regardless of denominational affiliation.

  9. We believe the church exists to make known the wisdom of God through the life of the church. This life is expressed in love that includes such things as joyful fellowship, bearing one another’s burdens, rejoicing with those who rejoice, weeping with those who weep, and mourning with those who mourn. It includes encouraging one another to live godly lives, and to admonish one another when sin is present. (Ephesians 3:8-12; Hebrews 10:25; Galatians 6:2; Romans 12)

  10. We believe all born-again believers have been commissioned to share the Gospel to all the world.

  11. "We believe that God has called out His people to love Him, to be full of wisdom, and zealous for good works (Titus 2:11-14).

  12. We believe that God has through His Spirit gifted and appointed leaders in the church, and that elders/overseers/pastors/shepherds are especially tasked with the guarding and guiding of the local church and for the care of the souls of the congregation. We believe that the members of the church ought to be in submission to godly leaders, giving them joy in their work and not grief. (Titus 1:5-16 ; Hebrews 13:17)

Statement on Humanity, Gender, Marriage, and Sexuality

  1. We believe that God created humans in His image, both male and female. These two are the only sexes or genders which God had created. Humans have been created above the animals and a little lower than the angels.. Human beings have been given dominion over the earth and all that is in it. God has placed great value in human beings, such that the murder of a human by another creature is an offense deserving of punishment by death. (Gen. 1:26-31; 9:5-7; and Ps. 8:3-8).

  2. We therefore believe there is an inherent dignity in every human being regardless of state of development, age, sex, skin color, physical abilities, mental abilities, social or economic status. Anyone who does not treat a human being with dignity (whether in treatment of one’s self or another person) is committing a sin and ought to repent. This includes but is not limited to: abuse of one’s body through drugs, hormones, surgeries, acting like an animal, self-harm, suicide, etc..; unjust and unloving treatment of another person through physical assault, taunting, derisive comments, or allowing another person to continue in sin. (Lev. 19; Jam. 2:1-13)

  3. We believe that a human being comes into existence the moment human DNA is created which is separate from the mother’s and the father’s at the moment of conception. It is therefore a sin to unjustly end the life of the human being in the womb. (Ex. 21:22-25)

  4. We believe that marriage is only properly defined as a voluntary, covenantal relationship between one man and one woman entered into as a life-long bond wherein the two become one flesh. It is only within the marriage bond that sexual union is lawful before God. (Gen. 2:18-25; Matt. 19:1-15; Mk. 10:1-12; 1 Cor. 7:1-7).

  5. We believe the only biblically lawful way a marriage union may be dissolved is through death and lawful divorce. We believe there are two kinds of divorce: lawful and unlawful, with lawful meaning in accordance with the laws of God contained in the Bible. (Deut. 24:1-4; Matt. 19:9).

  6. We believe that sexual immorality is any sexual conduct outside the bonds of marriage, and that any such conduct is an offense to God. Sexual immorality includes but is not limited to: fornication, rape, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography. (Lev. 18:1-30; 20:10-21; Rom. 1:18-32; 1 Cor. 6:9-20).

  7. We believe, based upon the foregoing, that it would be a sin to countenance or make accommodation for anyone identifying as transgender, as a “furry,” or any other conduct which is contrary to the statement of faith.

  8. We believe that any board member, faculty member, contractor, parent, or student living in any sins described above should work with his or her church and church leadership to overcome these sins. (James 5:16; 1 Corinthians 6:7-11)

  9. We believe that through Jesus Christ God offers forgiveness for sins, and that those who repent of their sins can be transformed by the Holy Spirit to mortify sins and live in joyful and proper relationship to God. (1 Cor. 6:11; Rom. 6:1-14; 8:1-17).

  10. To maintain unity we ask all board members, employees, contractors, parents, guardians, and students to agree to this statement of faith.
